Complete Power Protection with Built-In Surge Defense

The Generac 200 Amp Service Entrance Rated Automatic Transfer Switch with Integrated SPD (Surge Protection Device) delivers dual-layer protection for your home or business. This advanced transfer switch not only provides seamless automatic backup power during outages, but also includes integrated surge protection to safeguard your valuable electronics, appliances, and electrical systems from damaging voltage spikes.

Two Critical Protections in One Unit

Power outages and electrical surges are two of the most common threats to your property's electrical infrastructure. This innovative transfer switch addresses both challenges in a single, service-rated enclosure—automatically switching to generator power during outages while continuously protecting against surges from lightning strikes, utility switching, and other electrical disturbances.

Key Features & Specifications

• 200-amp service rating – ideal for most residential homes and light commercial properties
• Integrated surge protection device (SPD) – whole-home surge protection built directly into the transfer switch
• Automatic transfer switch – seamless utility-to-generator switching with no manual intervention
• Service entrance rated – can function as your main electrical disconnect, simplifying installation
• 120/240V single-phase configuration – standard residential electrical system compatibility
• NEMA 3R weatherproof enclosure – outdoor-rated for reliable performance in all weather conditions
• Generac-engineered integration – designed specifically for seamless operation with Generac standby generators
• Fast transfer time – switches to backup power within seconds of detecting utility failure

Comprehensive Surge Protection

The integrated SPD provides whole-home surge protection at the service entrance level—the most effective location for surge suppression. This protects all downstream circuits and connected devices from voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes, utility grid switching, or large appliance cycling. Unlike point-of-use surge protectors, this whole-home solution safeguards your entire electrical system, including hardwired appliances, HVAC systems, and permanently installed equipment.

Automatic Backup Power When You Need It

When utility power fails, the transfer switch instantly detects the outage, signals your Generac standby generator to start, and automatically transfers your electrical load to backup power once the generator reaches stable operating voltage. When utility power returns, the system seamlessly transfers back and signals the generator to shut down after a proper cool-down period—all completely automatic with zero manual intervention required.

Ideal Applications

• Residential homes with 200-amp electrical service requiring backup power and surge protection
• Properties in areas with frequent lightning activity or unstable utility power
• Homes with sensitive electronics, home theaters, smart home systems, and computer equipment
• Properties with critical power needs (medical equipment, home offices, security systems)
• Light commercial buildings requiring reliable backup power and electrical protection
• New construction or service upgrades where both transfer switch and surge protection are needed

Service-Rated Design Simplifies Installation

The service entrance rated design means this transfer switch can serve as your main electrical disconnect, eliminating the need for a separate service panel and reducing installation complexity and costs. This streamlined approach is ideal for new construction, service upgrades, or generator retrofits.

Built for Reliability and Longevity

Housed in a NEMA 3R weatherproof enclosure, this transfer switch is engineered for outdoor installation and long-term reliability in harsh weather conditions. Generac's proven transfer switch technology combined with integrated surge protection delivers comprehensive electrical system protection you can count on for years to come.

Professional Installation Required

This service-rated transfer switch must be installed by a licensed electrician in accordance with local electrical codes and NEC requirements. Professional installation ensures safe, code-compliant operation and proper integration with your Generac standby generator system.

Protect your home from both power outages and electrical surges with Generac's advanced dual-protection transfer switch solution.
